My Story
If you asked me 10 years ago about speech-language pathology I would have nothing to say. It was while working in a French immersion preschool that I first interacted with a speech therapist working with a young child. I became very curious and wanted to learn more. It was during the following year teaching English abroad in France that I learned more about the field, and the growing need speech-language therapists.
My background includes a Bachelors of Arts in French literature and language from Florida State University in 2013. I received my TEFL (teaching English as foreign language) certificate and spent 2 years teaching English abroad, both in South Korea and France. This time was invaluable to my development as a global citizen and as language teacher.
Following my time teaching English abroad and as a French language instructor, I enrolled in the Masters program of Speech Language Pathology at Jacksonville University, graduating in 2019. Since then I have been working with both pediatric and adult populations in an outpatient setting as well as skilled nursing. My passions include adult language disorders, cognitive disorders, and early childhood intervention with a strong belief in the use of reading and literary as a means to advance language and recovery in both children and adults.
